Dominion National, a leading provider of dental and vision benefits in the Mid-Atlantic area, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Member Services Specialist.


Summary:

The selected individual will join an outstanding team of dedicated Member Service Specialists who provide premier customer service. Ideal candidate must be dependable, have the ability to multi-task, have strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and have the desire to work as a self-motivated team player in a dynamic and challenging work environment.

Essential Job Functions (include but are not limited to):

  • Provides uniform interpretation of benefits to dentists, members and employer groups.
  • Explains and clarifyies dental plans policies and procedures.
  • Actively attempts to resolve patients concerns, which may include contacting other appropriate parties to facilitate the resolution of such concerns and adequately documents the information on the DataDental system.
  • Retrieves packages and forwards written correspondence (to include brochures provider lists and other printed materials) to enrollees when appropriate.
  • Investigates verbal complaints concerning billing, claims or services rendered. Forwards escalating complaints of service failures to designated departments for investigation.
  • Meeting established ACD system call statistics goals.
  • Provides support to the Director/Manager of Member Services with various projects.
  • Maintains current knowledge of Member Services policies and procedures.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty. The qualifications listed below are representative of the candidate’s education, knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform this job.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 to 4 years telephone customer services – (required).
  • Call center background – (preferred).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills necessary.
  • Must have the ability to document and resolve issues while conversing on the telephone.
  • Ability to apply active listening skills and problem solving techniques to evaluate proper course of resolution.
  • Background in the dental environment such as dental offices and dental insurance companies is a plus.
