Arlington, Va. – Dominion National, a leading dental and vision insurer and administrator headquartered in Arlington, Va., is donating thousands of dental care kits to local clinics and health departments throughout the Mid-Atlantic region as part of National Children’s Dental Health Month.

Donated kits include toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss and fun oral health facts to help promote the importance of maintaining oral health. This marks the ninth consecutive year Dominion has donated dental kits.

“This is a great program that helps emphasize the importance of preventive dental care for children in the communities we serve,” said Dominion President Mike Davis. “Our goal is to equip our youth with the proper supplies and education to help them stay on top of their oral health, which can help contribute to overall health and reduce the likelihood of more costly dental care in the future.”

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), tooth decay continues to be one of the most common chronic childhood diseases in the United States. The CDC estimates about 1 in 5 children ages 5-11 and 1 in 7 adolescents ages 12-19 have at least one untreated, decayed tooth.

Dominion is donating the dental kits to more than a dozen organizations across five states and the District of Columbia:
