Arlington, Va. – Dominion National Vice President of Marketing Jeff Schwab will present at the 2022 Social Determinants of Health Summit on June 24 in Las Vegas to discuss how teledentistry can help improve equitable access to care, reduce costs and support better oral health outcomes.

Access barriers to oral healthcare include geographic isolation, poverty, insufficient education and lack of communication skills. Research consistently shows an association between socioeconomic status (income, occupation and educational level) and the prevalence and severity of oral diseases. Teledentistry can be an effective tool to help address several of these obstacles and get more people to the dentist for necessary preventive and restorative care.

Fear and anxiety also are common factors that can hinder people from seeking dental care. Schwab will highlight effective strategies to overcome these factors and promote preventive oral care through teledentistry applications and other mobile communication channels.
