Arlington, Va. – Dominion National — a leading dental and vision insurer and administrator — is donating thousands of dental care kits to local clinics and health departments throughout the mid-Atlantic region in celebration of National Children’s Dental Health Month. The kits include toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss and fun facts to promote oral health.

For the 11th consecutive year, Dominion is proud to help raise awareness in the fight against childhood tooth decay. According to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AADP), about half of children in the U.S. are affected by tooth decay by the time they enter school, leading to more than 34 million school hours lost each year due to dental problems. Dominion continues to provide tools to assist with oral care and knowledge in an effort to help prevent cavities.

"At Dominion, we aim to support and build stronger communities by supporting causes and initiatives that can bring awareness and provide assistance with oral health," said Dominion President Mike Davis. "Our team is excited to team up with other healthcare professionals to make an impact in the lives of children in our local communities by donating dental kits to more than a dozen organizations."

Dominion is donating the dental kits to organizations in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
